Face match: confirm the person owns the ID
Anyone can type a NIN or BVN. Face match makes sure the person holding the phone is its owner: we take a live selfie, compare it with the photo on their NIMC or BVN record, and give you a match result and a score from 0 to 100.
₦400.00 per face match, including the NIN or BVN lookup. Charged when the comparison runs, match or not; refunded if the record has no photo.

Verification links, for apps
Your server creates a link, you open it in your app’s web view, and your customer takes a live selfie on a Verity page. No SDK needed, and it works in React Native and Expo. The result goes to your webhook.

Already capture selfies yourself? Send the selfie and the NIN or BVN to /api/v1/verify/face and get the score back in the same response.

For in-person onboarding: open Face Match on any phone or laptop, take the selfie with the camera and see the result side by side with the ID photo.

How does face match work?+
We look up the NIN or BVN, take the photo on that record, and compare it with a selfie of the person. You get a similarity score from 0 to 100 and a match result based on your pass mark, or the provider’s if you don’t set one.
Can I set my own match threshold?+
Yes. Send a threshold (for example 60) with each request and the match result uses it. You always get the raw score too, so you can apply your own rules.
Does it work in a React Native or Expo app?+
Yes. Create a verification link from your server and open it in a WebView with camera access. The page handles the selfie, then sends the customer back to your app with the result, and we notify your webhook.
Can someone use a photo from their gallery?+
No. Verity’s pages only accept a selfie taken live with the device camera; uploading a saved photo isn’t possible.
What if the NIN or BVN record has no photo?+
Some older records have no photo. In that case the check stops, you get a no_photo result, and you aren’t charged.
How long are selfies kept?+
Selfies and ID photos are deleted automatically after 30 days. The result and score stay in your verification history.
