Verity / Legal

Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for creating an account and using Verity. Please read them before you register.

Effective 6 October 2026

1. Who we are

Verity (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides identity verification services in Nigeria. These Terms of Use apply to the Verity website, account dashboard, and any verification features we make available through them.

2. Your account

Provide accurate registration details, keep your password private, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You must be legally able to enter into these terms and use the service in accordance with applicable law.

3. Identity information and consent

Only submit your own identity details, or another person's details when you have their explicit authority and a lawful reason to make the check. You must not use Verity to obtain information about someone without their knowledge or permission. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for your own use of any result.

4. Service availability and results

Features may change or be unavailable from time to time. We will show available checks and any applicable price before a paid request. A verification result reflects information returned by the relevant source at the time of the request; it does not guarantee a person's identity, honesty, eligibility, or compliance with any law. You should apply your own review where a decision has significant consequences.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for fraud, impersonation, harassment, unlawful surveillance, or any unlawful purpose. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, probe the service, interfere with other users, or submit information you have no right to use. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or comply with law.

6. Fees

If paid features become available, the price and payment terms shown at checkout will apply to that transaction. We will not charge for a request unless you take the action needed to authorise it. Payment processing may be provided by a third party under its own terms.

7. Your data and our materials

You retain your rights in information you submit. You permit us to process it as needed to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. The Verity name, design, software, and documentation belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or redistribute them except as the law allows or we agree in writing.

8. Responsibility and limits

We work to keep the service reliable, but cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by users or third-party sources, or by decisions made without appropriate independent review. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Changes and ending access

We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version and effective date here; where a change materially affects existing users, we will give reasonable notice. You may stop using your account at any time and request account closure by contacting us. We may end access for a material breach, subject to applicable law.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For questions, account closure, or a dispute, email support@verity.com.ng. We will try to resolve concerns directly with you.
